Risk assessment

·      Broken glass cutting hands
·      Cutting from chiseling
·      Splinters get in hands

We wear correct PPE. To prevent these risks from happening. To stop glass cuts wear a specific type of gloves that will protect your hand. And also it will stop the cuts from chisels and splinters. We are working to the health and safety act of 1974.

Method statement

We first got our PPE on, and then we made our way to the area of the window and looked at it and seen the window hinges are rusty. So we got the necessary tools and materials to do the window, then started to unscrew the hinges off and tack it off and put in a safe place. After tock hinges of both sides we attached new hinges that will not get rusty. So we had to make a little bigger place for it to sit flush and well and fitted back all in place and flush. We then checked if functioned properly then pack away (plus clearance).

Dear customer

We have inspected the window ironmongery on your window and we found that you hinges have rested and wood has expanded a little.

So we started to loosen the hinges form window frame and tack it off safely then swopped the rusted hinges and put in new ones they were a bit bigger so re chiseled.

Then screwed then hinges back in places and then started on the window to just tack 1mm off each side to le it easily swing again.

Then fitted back on hinges and screwed in place and tested the swing, after refitted also a new handle on door because it was stiff and then after we checked everything and then pack away (plus clearance).
