Common defects to capping

·         Capping cracking over time form weathers

·         Loosening of capping because of movement or it comes naturally loose

·         The moisture getting in making the mix harder to get a good set

Materials
·         Shape sand £10 (1 bag)
·         Cement  £10 (1 bag)
·         Capping stone  £50 ( 1 capping )

PPE
·         Boots
·         Goggles
·         Gloves
·         Dust mask


Risk assessment
·         Capping falling on to feet (medium risk)
·         Heavy or sharp objects (low risk)
·         Mortar mix splashing in eye (high risk)
We shall wear the correct PPE to prevent these types of risks that we have mentioned.  To stop cuts or sharp objects cutting skin or over parts wear gloves, To stop objects dropping on feet wear boots to lessen the risk of crushing feet, wear goggles to protect eyes for dust or any other particles getting in your eyes and shall be under they health and safety act of 1974.


Method statement

Wear the correct PPE then we shall remove  existing capping stones and replace with the same finish  and any other materials  we need,  then we dispose of all waste ,after  fit the new capping stone then do the last finishing touches on capping

  1. Well done a slight improvement on the last blog. I understand what you are trying to say. Try and make things flow more. for example in quote you could of stated;

    We have carried out an inspection of your capping/copping stones to the front garden wall and have found some loose stones.

    to carry out the repairs we will,

    Protect the surronding areas £...
    Remove loose stones and dispose off £...
    Install new capping £....
    Clean and tidy site on completion £....
