Risk assessment

·      Getting chippings of wood in eye
·      Splinters
·      Falling objects

We wear correct PPE to prevent these risks from happening. We wear the goggles to protect our eyes from bits of wood that chip up when using the chisel. We wore glove to protect our hands from splinters and any prexisting nail in the wood. We wore steel toe capped boot to protect our feet from any falling objects and also due to people working around us with bricks. We also worked to the Health and Safety Act 1974.

Method statement

We first got our PPE on. We then made our way to the work area. Once we were at the work area we then disposed of the existing panels and broken aris rail. The first thing we did was the make sure that the aris rails were cut to size. Then we chiseled out the end of a new aris rail. We made sure that one side was smaller that the other so that it would slip into place easier. Once that the aris rails were up we then attached the timber we left a 50 mm gap in between each of the pices of timber. We made sure that all the timber is level we done this while we were attaching the timber. Once that all of the timber was attached we then tidied up making sure that there were no problems. We then disposed of any non-reusable materials.

Dear customer

After carefully viewing your property we have found that both of the aris rails have snapped and the panels are broken so we will need to replace both the aris rails and the panels

So we got the right materials and started to cut out the mortise tenant joins so that the rails can fit easily and nice and tight and then put a face bored at the bottom to give it a siting place for the fencing panels to sit on.

Then stared to fit on fence panels and work out the spacing between each panels to give a good look and even finish then when all done make any last touches and pack away (plus clearance).
